Lees verder...Formlabs developed the Fuse 1+ with accessibility in mind. Most businesses don’t have the significant additional square footage in their facilities, nor the ability to add dedicated alternators historically required for SLS systems. Many of our SMB customers operate from office spaces rather than large warehouses and technical facilities, limiting their ability to resize their spaces, utilities, and HVAC systems. The Fuse 1+ solves this dilemma; it’s compact, quick to install, safe, and intuitive to use, and requires minimal cleanup.
Internet, Software and Dashboard
The Fuse 1+ and Fuse Sift are easy to add to your existing network, equipped with both Ethernet and Wi-Fi capabilities. New SLS users don’t need to purchase expensive software to manage their printers: the Fuse 1+ and Fuse Sift are integrated with Formlabs’ free, CAD-agnostic print orientation software, PreForm.
PreForm also makes it easy to optimize powder usage (and therefore minimize operating costs) through its automated packaging algorithm, which ensures each part is nested within the build chamber in a way that minimizes unsintered powder and wasted space.
There are also direct integrations for programs like Fusion 360, so the integration and print preparation of your workflow is seamless and time-saving. For companies that have scaled up their SLS production, managing powder and maintenance schedules, starting prints remotely, and sharing files and print progress with your team is easy through Dashboard, a free online platform from Formlabs.
Fuse Sift: safe powder handling
A major factor that discourages customers from printing with SLS is the typically complex and messy post-processing process. The biggest concern is often the powder itself, both in terms of safety and the mess it can create.
The Fuse 1+ and Fuse Sift eliminate that concern by enclosing most of the powder handling steps (powder extraction, preparation, transport and storage), limiting user interaction with the powder.
The Fuse Sift also creates a safe environment under the cover for removing workpieces from the powder cake (the partially sintered powder surrounding the workpiece) and removing excess unsintered powder. Finishing parts used to require a technician, but the Fuse Sift makes it easy for anyone to clean powder using the included set of tools and even de-powder.
Post-processing
Post-processing is simplified by the Fuse Sift, including powder removal and powder recycling/mixing. But what about after parts have been depowdered and post-processed? With the Fuse Blast, these can be blasted and polished using various media.
We understand that many applications require incredibly smooth surfaces and require an additional step after using the Fuse Sift. Media blasting, topcoating, and vapor smoothing, for example, are processes many customers use to achieve a smoother finish on parts, improve porosity and watertightness, as well as the overall aesthetics of their end-use parts. Fenix 3D can advise you on these processes or perform them for you.
