Formlabs ESD resin enables the 3D printing of enclosures and tools that can safely come into contact with electronics. ESD (electrostatic discharge)-safe materials prevent the buildup of static electricity and the risk of electric shock damage to electronics. Formlabs ESD achieves this by dissipating this buildup out of the component.

This material has a flexibility comparable to ABS and can therefore also absorb physical shocks well.

How does Formlabs ESD resin work?

Fine graphite powder is mixed into the resin. While the resin itself is too resistant to conduct electricity, the graphite powder has a very low resistance. This combination makes it possible to 3D print a plastic that is ESD-safe.
