Overview: Ultimaker Filament 3d Printer Manufacturer

After years of working with Ultimaker 3D printers, we can now proudly announce that we have become a value-added reseller of Ultimaker! This means that in addition to supplying, we can now also provide service and training.

The Dutch 3d Printer Manufacturer of Global Renown

Ultimaker, founded in 2011, is a Dutch brand that has gained worldwide recognition for its professional “plug & play” 3D printers. This is something we have always greatly appreciated given our production background. After all, the most important thing is that something works when you need it!

Ultimaker 3D printers are designed in such a way that parts can be quickly exchanged (for example, nozzles, Bowden tubes, and heating blocks).

Now, 14 years later, it is still a Dutch company. Its more than 300 employees primarily work at the headquarters in Geldermalsen, where R&D activities also take place. Production is carried out a few kilometers away in Zaltbommel, between Utrecht and Den Bosch.

As of 2025, UltiMaker is a merged company between Ultimaker and Makerbot and continues to grow in the industrial FFF 3D printer market. The Ultimaker Factor 4 is the first achievement in this regard, an affordable 3D printer that can reliably and qualitatively print with demanding plastics such as PEKK and PPS-CF.

Print Profiles and Software

Over the years, Ultimaker has also built up its own material offering, with NFC recognition that directly selects the correct print profile. These profiles are also constantly updated to optimally utilize the latest software updates and machines.

Ultimaker is, however, an open system, which makes it possible to print any existing filament on the market. More than 350 brands have also developed unique print profiles together with Ultimaker, which can be downloaded with a few clicks directly into the free slicer software ‘Cura’.

This ‘slicer’ makes it possible to translate 3D models into code that the printer can execute layer by layer to create the final model.

Print Farms and Security

With Ultimaker, it is also possible to control multiple printers via ‘Digital Factory‘. This cloud-based app is fully hosted in Europe. Data shared with Digital Factory is, of course, also encrypted according to high security standards.

For users who require extra security, it is also optionally possible to remove all connectivity modules from the printer. Without these modules, the printer can only be controlled via a direct, offline connection.
