Presentation: Formlabs SLA and SLS 3d Printers and Materials

Formlabs was founded in 2011 by three MIT students as a Kickstarter project; the Form 1: the first desktop SLA 3D printer capable of producing industrial, professional parts at an affordable price. With its headquarters in Boston and its European HQ in Berlin, Formlabs has global reach with local presence.

The vast majority of the more than 750 employees worldwide work in R&D, from developing new hardware and advancing software to creating new materials. This has resulted in over 45 proprietary materials and 130,000+ printers sold.

Thanks to this ongoing commitment to innovation, Formlabs has grown into the largest supplier of professional stereolithography (SLA) and selective laser sintering (SLS) 3D printers in the world.

At Fenix 3D, we have been working with Formlabs for more than 5 years—initially as a customer, later as a test customer for new materials, and since 2025 also as a reseller for the full range of Formlabs solutions. Under the name CW Development, we even received the first Formlabs Fuse 1 delivered in the Benelux!

For us, Formlabs is a partner we love working with. Even though it is a multinational, it still thinks with a start-up mentality: working hard for every customer and driven by technology. Over the years we have built strong relationships, allowing us to respond quickly—both when issues arise and when developing new innovations and improvements.
